Wisdom from the Psalms 3/11

March 11

Psalms 26:5
I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.

Jeremy knew he wasn't cool. Everyone at school told him so. He wanted to be cool, but he wasn't willing to do the things people told him he had to do in order to be cool. He didn't want to smoke, or do drugs, or drink, or hurt other people. If that was cool, forget it. It just wasn't worth it inside. If people didn't want to accept him as he was, then maybe they weren't worth his time, anyway.

Sometimes it's very difficult to say no to evildoers. It can be very lonely, because so many people love to do what they know is wrong. It is a very rare individual who will say no even when it means being rejected. Still, God calls us to live right and good lives. IN order to do that, we need to steer clear of evildoers. Call upon the Lord to give you strength and conviction. He will answer your call.

Prayer: All around me I see people doing things that are not pleasing to You. I want to live a good life, Father; one that is pleasing to You. Rescue me from those who would drag me down, and fill me with Your Spirit. Amen.
