Duck Dynasty on Adoption and Christian Influence

Like millions of families, we love watching Duck Dynasty on A&E every week. Amid the crazy antics and sayings of Uncle Si and the others, we’ve definitely picked up on the Christian values woven into the fabric of the Robertson family’s lives.

Here’s a clear instance of William Robertson being outspoken about his Christian faith. It’s in response to a question about he and Korie adopting “Lil' Will.” In case something happens to the video, I’ve transcribed highlights below.

“Some of you may have thought about [adoption]. I challenge you to do that. It’s unbelievable. That’s what God did with us, you know. He took us in. Jesus is His Son. We are His adopted children. And so I can look at my two sons that I have and literally see the New Testament unfolded right there. Because I have the same love for him, no different.”

About the show “Duck Dynasty,” William Robertson summarizes:
“We’ve got something positive. We’re throwing terms around like ‘repentance’ and ‘forgiveness’ and ‘ungodly.’ That’s on national TV.

Let me tell you something, Hollywood is watching and learning and listening and going: “Wow, I didn’t realize a show like that could be the number 1 show on all of cable.”

The video clip is a little over two minutes long.
