Perils of Debt

Mark had a $3,600 credit card bill that was turned over to a collection agency. Mark feared calling the collector due to their ruthless reputation. His mind raced with worries of them seizing his business.

After listening, I realized he needed some reality and hope. I developed a plan for his debt repayment. Then I urged him to stop worrying and call the collection attorney to begin a dialogue.

Jesus taught in Matthew 6:31, “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.”

The perils of debt bring many fears, but our time’s better spent on implementing a plan, rather than worrying.
