2 Corinthians 5:6-9

Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight—we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

When God becomes the most important thing in your life, then your deepest desire (your “ambition, whether at home or absent”) will be “to be pleasing to Him”!

When I fell in love with my wife, I had an impossible schedule. I was working full time, doing theological studies full time, learning Greek and Hebrew, teaching a large group at church. Yet I still found lots of time to spend with her. That’s what happens when you fall in love. When I fell in love with Jesus Christ, I found myself wanting to spend lots of time with Him too.

For the person whose greatest love is the person Jesus, it is not enough just to spend time with Him, we also want to bring joy to Him by our lives.

What are some ways that you could bring joy to Jesus today? Use the space provided to express your deepest desire to the Lord.
