Don't be Afraid

Mark 4:39-40: He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet!  Be still! Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

The disciples were professional fishermen and very adept at handling their boats. But God wanted them to learn to be totally dependent on Him, so He tested them in the area of their greatest strength, sailing on the Sea of Galilee, instead of an area of weakness.

Any area where we have a tendency to become prideful about our abilities can hinder a strong relationship with God. Through parenting trials, God may be testing you in the area of your strength as well in order to encourage total dependence on Him. When you are overwhelmed with the challenges of parenting, He lovingly asks: "Why are you so afraid?"

Trust God to calm the storms of your everyday life.
