Q: What Does "Having Done All, To Stand" Mean?

A: "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (Ephesians 6:13). This is Paul's injunction and challenge to the Christian in order to meet our adversary the Devil. He tells us that we are to put on armor, and it is not an armor that leads us into a battle where we're going to be the aggressor. We're not going to storm some walled city and take it. I think that's a picture of the world that we're to overcome, but not the Devil. All we're told to do is to put up a defensive fight wi
