Word for the World devotionals from Dr. Randy White

“And that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.” (Acts 3:20-21; NASB95)

Jesus Christ is in Heaven now.  He is giving an extended period of time for “whosoever will” to repent and return.  However, someday He is coming back!

After the rapture and the following tribulation, He will come in glory in the “Second Coming”.  This coming will begin the period of the “restoration of all things”.  Once again creation will live in harmony with the Creator.  In that day, man will have dominion over the earth, but he will be under the submission of the Messiah, who will live again in our presence.  For 1,000 years the world will be free from the deception of the devil and his demons.  It will truly be life as it was meant to be.

People often wonder why God made this world filled with death, danger, and disease.  Why is crime rampant, why do lies thrive, why do the evil prosper?  Truthfully, God did not make the world like this.  God made a garden of paradise, a world in perfect harmony, a universe made by God for man.  God made a prosperous world for us to enjoy.  Man, however, decided he wanted to be God.  For this, a curse came upon man and creation; a curse that remains to this day.

In the days of restoration, life will be as God intended it!  So rejoice—it only gets better!

In His Grace,
Dr. Randy White
