The concrete mixers rolled in and out of the lot throughout the day. Each deposited its load into the foundation of the new office building, then departed. Dozens of men worked to shape and structure the foundation. Finally, the huge concrete slab was in place. Tons of concrete provided the base for what would become a huge office complex. With a firm foundation in place, construction could begin. We need to have a firm foundation before we structure our lives. If we set our hearts and minds upon God, He will give us His strength; a strength which cannot be moved. God is the only real foundation. Anything else is a poor substitute.
Lord, be my anchor and support. When the day gets roughest, help me to remember that I am firmly established on Your Spirit and in Your love. Amen.
