Necessary Pain

today's reading.
Psalms 119:65-72    You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word...

the blog.
The message and words of Psalm 119:65-72 so resonated with me because this passage basically describes my experience a number of years ago of straying from God and needing to go through affliction to get me back on track with Him. The affliction I'm referring to is severe anxiety, and I won't hesitate to tell you, how much I did not enjoy it. Yet, I wholeheartedly agree with the Psalmist that it was good because having to deal with anxiety and panic attacks got my attention and made me realize just how much I needed God.

So what about you? Can you join the Psalmist in saying "it is good that I was afflicted that I might learn your statutes"? And if you're in the middle of a hard situation right now, what encouragement does this passage offer? Tami W.
