John 16:23-27

In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.

Allow Jesus to pray His requests through us, and the answer to our prayers is guaranteed!

Reread the astounding promises made in this verse if we’ll pray “in Jesus’ name”. This doesn’t mean that we add “in Jesus’ name” onto the end of our prayers (though it can be a good reminder to do so). Praying in Jesus’ name means we pray on His behalf, in His interest.

God’s challenging you to change your prayer focus from asking for what you want, to asking for what Jesus wants in your life. How can you know what He wants? By spending lots of time with Him!
