Psalms 119:9-16

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your Word. With all my heart I have sought you; do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your Word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You… I will meditate on Your precepts, and regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your Word.

God has given us His Word to help us renew our minds!

God did not tell us to change ourselves. He is the one who will change us. He tells us that the part of us that needs to change first of all is our minds. They need to be renewed. When that happens, transformation will follow.

And God went even further: He gave us a number of things that we can put into our lives that are like God’s tools for the renewing of our minds. As you see in today’s reading, God’s Word is one of the most significant. We need to treasure it in our heart.

The world also offers you tools to help you focus your mind on its agenda and its values. What are some of the tools the world offers you?

When you choose to fill your mind with God’s Word and reject the world’s tools, then you will find God’s Spirit using His Word to totally transform your inner life.
