Time with God - Dec. 16, 2011

Revelation 22:12-13

Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Everything changes and decays and wears out, but God continues through the ages and for all eternity exactly as He has been for all of eternity past!

Before anything else existed, there was God, holding all the reality of the ages of time in His mind, even though they had not yet been formed or come to pass. God was then exactly what He is now. He has not grown or diminished in His power, He has not learned or forgotten anything, He has not matured or grown old, He has not increased in wisdom nor decreased. Everything that God has ever been, He is, and He will be the same forever into the future.

God does not, will not, cannot change. He is what He is. It doesn’t matter what some people imagine God to be like, or what religions they follow. God will not be who people want Him to be. He will not and cannot be anything other than what He is. He has revealed Himself in the Bible and in the person of Jesus Christ. Our job is not to decide what God is like, but to discover that God who is who He is!
