Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The love God expects from you is a love that you cannot produce!

This is a lesson you MUST learn in the Christian life. The life God expects from you He also supplies to you! That’s why you so often struggle in trying to live the Christian life described in the Bible. God designed you so that life would only work properly when you are walking with Him and inviting Him to live His life in you.

It seems like once you become a Christian everything should just work right. But there is still the necessity for you to put self into the background and say, “My life is not for me; it’s for God. And I will put Him at the centre of it and ask Him to live in me what I cannot live in myself.” That’s why God gave you His Holy Spirit.

God wants you to stop at the beginning of each day and say, “Lord, what do you want to do through me today? What are you doing in the lives of the people around me and how do you want to do it through me? I am stepping out of the way in inviting your Spirit to lead my life today.”
