The Journey with Ron Moore

Down to One Prayer | Psalm 116:1-6

Today's Passage: Psalm 116:1-6
Key Verse: Psalm 116:3b-5

I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, save me!" The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

The psalmist lived in real life. The "cords of death entangled" him. He was overcome with the "anguish of the grave" and overwhelmed with "distress and sorrow." The psalmist was down to one prayer: "Lord, save me!"

How about you? Can you relate? Are you familiar with distress and sorrow? Do you feel like the entanglement of sin, a bad decision, or a health issue is dragging you down? Are you down to one prayer? "Lord, save me!"

God hears your every cry and he responds. He is gracious...he gives us what we donít deserve. He is righteous...everything he does is good and just. He is full of compassionóhe comes with a heart full of mercy. God will hear you even if you are down to one prayer.

Lord, save me! In Jesus' name. Amen.
