Today's Work. Tomorrow's Trust. | Psalm 71:1-8

Today's Passage: Psalm 71:1-8
Key Verses: Psalm 71:5-6

For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.

Reflect on your life. Think about the ways God has worked. Contemplate God's protection and guidance. Sometimes he has protected you from yourself. He has always been, and always will be, your rock of refuge.

This psalm was written by an older person reflecting on the past years. The psalmist is thankful that God has always been present. Trust was placed in the Lord early on. He says, "from birth I have relied on youÖ."

Confidence for tomorrow is found in God's work yesterday. He will be your rock of refuge in the future just as he has been in the past. Remember that the God who never changes has carried you to this point and he is not about to drop you now. Thank him for his work yesterday. Trust him for his work tomorrow.

Father, thank you for your great work in my past. Thank you for being my strong refuge. Thank you for never leaving me. Thank you for your continual forgiveness. Thank you that I am safe and secure in you. Because I have experienced your work, I can trust you today and tomorrow. In Jesus' name. Amen.
