She said, “Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers.” So she came, and she has continued from early morning until now, except for a short rest.

--Ruth 2:7

If you are wondering what God’s plan for your life is, you can learn an important lesson from Ruth.

Ruth is an example for you and me because she was faithful where she was… to what God had assigned her to do. She went to the field and worked, and she worked hard. According to Ruth 2, verse 7, she arrived early and stayed late!

You see, Ruth didn’t have ulterior motives. She didn’t know about the future… about Boaz being her future husband. She didn’t know she would become the great-grandmother of David and a direct ancestor of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She didn’t have a clue about any of that! Ruth simply did what she was assigned to do that day, letting God lead her as she faithfully obeyed Him.

And that is how God leads you and me. We’re called to “bloom where we’re planted.” We should work hard doing what we’re called to do… right now!

That’s the story of Ruth’s life. She met success in a common hour by simply doing what God had directed her in her heart to do.

Are you doing the will of God in your life right now? Are you blooming where God has planted you today?

WHATEVER YOU DO TODAY, DO IT TO THE VERY BEST OF YOUR ABILITY!
