“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

--John 10:10

Genesis 2:7 says that God created man from dust and breathed life into his body. The amazing thing about His creation of mankind is that He made the universe by speaking it into existence, but with man He took the dust of the earth and formed us in His own hands!

In the beginning, man and woman were personally ideal—physically, psychologically, and spiritually. God gave them all things to enjoy and a purpose. In order to establish His authority, the Lord gave man freedom with only one prohibition, and yet both Adam and Eve chose to disobey Him. God warned them of the death, or separation from Him, that would fall upon them if they ate from the tree of forbidden fruit.

When the man and woman violated God’s command and ate of the fruit, they died and passed on this death to all humanity. They died in spirit, and now we are all born spiritually dead. But God… out of His great love… also created in man a way to choose to turn away from sin and death to follow Him.

This means that lives of brokenness can be mended, healed, and restored back to wholeness through the acceptance of Jesus Christ.

As we see in today’s verse, Christ came to this earth, lived a sinless existence, died on the cross for our sins and rose again that we might have eternal life—a life in paradise.

My prayer for you today is to experience true life as a new creation in Jesus!

LIVES OF BROKENNESS CAN BE MENDED, HEALED, AND RESTORED BACK TO WHOLENESS THROUGH THE ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST
