1 Corinthians 5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife...
Paul delivers a stern message in 1 Corinthians 5. He's talking to the body of believers, the church in Corinth, and calling them out regarding some serious sin issues. But he's not only addressing the sin, but how the people in the church who aren't participating in these sins are overlooking it. This entire chapter got me thinking about immorality and how the world today thrives on it. We see that on TV, in the movies, in magazines, in music. It's so commonplace that we become desensitized to it. So Paul's words were a good reminder for me about God's holiness and the standards He expects us to live by.
So what does this chapter show us about the seriousness of sin and about God's view of sexual sin? What about overlooking or condoning sinful behavior with other believers? Tami
