A God Who Helps

Psalm 124   If it had not been the Lord who was on our side--let Israel now say...

David tells us in Psalm 124:8 "Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth." But in getting to this final proclamation, he reminds the people of Israel how the Lord had protected them in and through many situations. I particularly liked the vividness of verses 2 and 3, "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive..."

Take a few minutes to think about how the Lord has protected, helped and sustained you. Then, finish the sentence below: 

If it had not been the Lord who was on my side, then ________________________________.
