Honoring Authority

Today's reading: 1 Peter 2:13-17

Verses 13-17 of 1 Peter 2 clearly put before us the call to submit to government, and more specifically, the government officials who have authority over us. Peter concludes these powerful verses with the command to "honor everyone" and "honor the emperor." This can feel uncomfortable and even be a little difficult at times, but it's what God expects of us.

So how are you living out the words of verse 17 to: "Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor." Is it your practice to pray for government officials? Tami
