One Important Day
2 Corinthians 5:1-10 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens...
2 Corinthians 5:1
think about it.
How does Paul contract our earthly home with the heavenly one (5:1-5)? What gives us courage (5:6-8)? What is our aim and why (5:9-10)? What are you doing today to ensure your rewards?
Paul gives us a little preview and a pep talk of sorts in 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 about living now but looking toward our heavenly home. I found his words about being in good spirits, walking by faith and not by sight, and making it our aim to please God very encouraging. The most important verse for me, however, was verse 10. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil."
So what does 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 show us about the importance of living to please God? How can we use our knowledge of the Judgment Seat of Christ as a motivator in the here and now? Tami W.
