Our Shield

Today's reading: Psalm 7:1-17

David is brokenhearted and crying out to God to be his refuge and shelter in a difficult time. I was drawn to verses 8-11 where David recognizes God as being a righteous judge over all people and then boldly proclaims:

"My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart" (vs. 10).

Do you think of God as your shield (your shelter, refuge, protection)? How would describe having an "upright heart"? Tami
