Final Defeat

Today's reading: 1 Samuel 31:1-13

We just spent the last few weeks in 1 Samuel, which gave us a good look at Saul as the first king of Israel. Saul's reign started well but then progressively deteriorated to a poor ending. Although the account is disheartening, there were lessons for us from Saul's life in many areas--leadership, fear, following God, sin in a variety of forms, and relationships--to name a few.
