Enter the Judges
Judges 2:16-3:6 Then the Lord raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them...
The Israelites have walked away from God and are behaving horribly, yet God is moved by their terrible circumstances and provides judges to save them. So you'd think the people would turn from their sinful ways and return to God--right? Not quite. Judges 2:19 is sad and telling. "But whenever the judge died, they turned back and were more corrupt than their fathers, going after other gods, serving them and bowing down to them. They did not drop any of their practices or their stubborn ways."
So what does this passage reveal about the human heart? About God's heart? Tami
