Every Word

Today's reading: Proverbs 30:1-33

The author of Proverbs 30 is Agur son of Jakeh, and as such we see a slightly different writing style compared to prior chapters of Proverbs. I was intrigued by the way we were presented with groupings of three and four items for consideration, and spent some time thinking through each of those. Even so, there was one verse, not part of these groupings, that stood out above everything else.

"Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him" (vs. 5).

The moment I read it, God's absolute goodness, and words like reliable, trustworthy, accurate and dependable filled my mind.

What did this verse reveal to you about God? What words came to your mind? Tami
