Forget the Stuff

Today's reading: Psalm 49:1-20

With Christmas fast approaching and ad after ad delivering the message—we need more, we need bigger, we need better —I found the words of Psalm 49 wise and timely.

"Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish" (vs. 12).

"Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him" (vs. 16-17).

What helps you keep an eternal perspective in this material, money-focused world? What encouragement did you draw from Psalm 49, and why? Tami
