King Leader

Today's reading: 2 Samuel 15:13-37

It's not too difficult to be a leader when things are running smoothly. But when the going gets tough it's a different ball game. Leading in and through a time of crisis reveals a lot about the person in charge--attitudes, values, motives--and that's when good leaders stand out.

David is in the middle of a dire situation running for his life from his son, Absalom. So how does he respond? Like a true king and leader--caring for the people around him, putting others interests before his own, praying and making wise strategic decisions on the fly, and trusting that God is in control of every aspect of this dark situation.

So how do you tend to respond when a crisis arises? What did you learn from David's words and actions that you might put into practice going forward? Tami
