We should expect difficult situations, to be treated poorly, and, yes, to experience pain and suffering because we've chosen to follow Christ and live a godly life. Now that doesn't sound like much fun, but I can honestly say that even though I haven't enjoyed those difficult situation or painful times, good has come from them. Through some pretty awful situations God has taught and grown me spiritually and ultimately drawn me closer to Him.
