Complacent

Today's reading: Joshua 18:1-19:51

Sometimes we can fall into a mindset of spiritual complacency where, for whatever reason, we stop moving forward and become content to basically tread water. That's the picture we see with the remaining seven tribes of Israel who hadn't yet taken possession of the land God had put before them for the taking. Joshua's words to this group were telling.

"So Joshua said to the people of Israel, 'How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?'" (Joshua 18:3)

So where are you at right now in your spiritual journey? Would you say you are more like this group of Israelites or more like Caleb who consistently sought after and served God? What helps you avoid a complacent mindset? Tami
