Teenage Barriers

According to the Associated Press, the percentage of young people with driver’s licenses is declining significantly. One possible explanation is the additional requirements states have erected for teenagers.

When I turned 16, I took my driver’s test and received my license that very day! My youngest daughter, however, has to log in 50 hours of driving time and meet multiple requirements. Many teens do not persevere through these requirements.

In business, we sometimes change policies for our customers that hinder their purchase.

In Matthew 19, Jesus’ disciples hindered the children from seeing Jesus. He said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

There are occasions for policy changes, but we need to carefully consider the consequences.
