A Mother's Wisdom
By: Rick Boxx
May 9, 2014

My friend, Tom, began his career in the government compliance side of his industry. With a strong work ethic and a sharp mind, he rose to executive levels.

After spending decades in government compliance, Tom knew he needed a change. He had some similar job offers, but found little passion for them. Entrepreneurship, however, excited him more. Needing wise counsel, Tom went to his mother for advice.

Honored that he asked, Tom’s mother wisely said, “Tom, why don’t you do something you would love to do?”

Exodus 20:12 teaches, “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”

This Mother’s Day don’t forget to honor your mother. Her wisdom may prolong your happiness and even your work life.
