Severed From the Vine

Matt found himself in a heated confrontation with a truck driver. The stress of Matt’s work and personal life came to a head, resulting in him losing his temper.

We can all relate to allowing the stresses of life to get the best of us. The question is, “How can we avoid bearing “bad fruit” in the midst of chaos?”

Jesus points out that it’s impossible to bear “good fruit” apart from Him. John 15:4 says, “Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Looking back, Matt realizes that his actions were a result of not staying connected with Jesus through consistent prayer and meditation of His word.

Today’s “Integrity Moment” is adapted with permission from the writings of Matt Cline.
