A False Image

The mission statement proclaimed a commitment to serving Christ and loving others. From the outside, the organization appeared to be an extension of the church.
A closer look at the internal structure and culture revealed a different message: one of slander, envy, and deceit.
Jesus isn’t impressed by our image or our outward religious character. In fact, he despises those who portray themselves as righteous in public, but have a heart of sin.
Matthew 6:5 teaches, “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men.”
Although man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart. Ask yourself “Does my outward image line up with my inward heart?”
