Fist Fights and Flights
June 13, 2011
By: Rick Boxx

After four days of cancelled flights, my daughter, Megan, finally departed Washington DC on her way to Africa. About 1 hour over the Atlantic Ocean a man a few rows behind her slapped the head of a man who had reclined his seat!

A fist fight broke out, resulting in the pilot deciding to head back to Washington DC. Two F-16’s soon joined them to escort them back, all because of a man who lacked the self- control necessary to resolve his conflict with words instead of physical assault.

Proverbs 25:28 teaches, “Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.”

Workplaces, like airplanes, can become volatile at times. When provoked, remember that a cool head and self-control is best.
