Self Governance Wins

LRN Consulting studied what types of organizations had the best financial results. They discovered three different styles of businesses.

The first group, labeled Blind Obedience, led their team with a strong top/down, coercive approach. The second group, labeled Informed Acquiescence, had a very rules-based style.

The final group, and most profitable, was Self-Governance. These organizations were known for their trusted employees who did the right thing due to their clear understanding of the organizational mission and values.

The Self-Governance style’s performance, with its servant leader approach, far exceeded the Blind Obedience dictator types.

In Matthew 20, Jesus contrasted the Gentile leaders with his disciples. He told his disciples, “Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant.”

If you want an effective and profitable business model, aim for a Self-Governance style.
