Focused on the Mission

Early on, Jesus’ healing ministry was exploding. As he served person-after-person with his Spirit-filled healing power, the word spread quickly.

By morning the growing crowds were desperate to find Jesus so that they too might be healed. Jesus, however, had different plans.

In Luke 4 we read, “When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them. But He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.”

Jesus was doing a good work, yet He knew He had a much greater purpose to fulfill. Even a servant leader must decline good offers at times to remain mission-focused.
