Encore Careers

A Wall Street Journal article about late-in-life careers cited a study by Encore.org and Met Life Foundation that discovered that 31 million people are seeking an “encore” career. 24% of that group desire to do something faith based in their twilight years.

The majority of these people are looking to leave a legacy. Unfortunately, many of them have determined that the careers they currently have are good for provision, but not so good for leaving a legacy.

1 Peter 4:11 teaches, “Whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”

Before leaping into an encore career, make sure God is done using you, and receiving glory through your current career.
