Seasons of Rest
By: Rick Boxx
July 15, 2013

When I was in banking it was required that I take two consecutive weeks of vacation. As a workaholic, during that stage of my life, I tried to find ways around the policy. I arrogantly thought my work was too important to take a long break.

God, however, designed each of us for seasons of rest. Most of us need 6-8 hours of sleep a night. God designed one day a week for rest from our work, and God even thought of vacations, but they were originally called feasts.

Exodus 23:14 proclaimed, “Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to Me.” These were 7-8 day celebrations, or what we would consider vacations today.

Part of a healthy work environment requires seasons of rest. Have you scheduled any rest lately?
