All Are Called

In a 1967 sermon, Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Before I was a civil rights leader, I was a preacher of the Gospel. This was my first calling and it still remains my greatest commitment. You know, actually all that I do in civil rights I do because I consider it a part of my ministry. I have no other ambitions in life, but to achieve excellence in the Christian ministry.”

Paul told the Romans in Romans 1:6, “And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.”

In business, many people do not realize that they are called to the ministry as well. Some are called to be accountants, others are called to be janitors, but we are all called to be ministers of the gospel.
