Give It to Get It

Paul’s organization passionately pursued Matt’s landscaping business to become a client. Matt finally gave Paul the opportunity, only to watch as Paul’s claim of superior customer service disappeared!

Frustrated, Matt terminated the relationship. Soon after, Matt received a sincere apology from Paul. Matt remembered several occasions when he personally had underperformed and how grateful he was for the mercy of others. So Matt showed Paul mercy and gave him a second chance, with a good result.

The Bible says in Mark 11:26, “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your wrong doings.” In order to receive forgiveness and mercy, we have to offer it to others in return.

Remember, forgiveness and mercy is a two way street. To get it, we have to give it.

Today’s “Integrity Moment” was adapted with permission from the writings of Matt Cline.
