Doing Justice
By:Rick Boxx

Many countries compete vigorously to host worldwide sporting events. Last year, several leaders of FIFA, the organization that selects the FIFA World Cup soccer locations, were arrested for allegedly receiving over $150 million in bribes to steer the location of the next two World Cup events!

By accepting bribes these leaders undermined justice for the other nations competing for the World Cup. They put their own interests above the worldwide soccer community they serve.

Proverbs 29:4 teaches, “The king gives stability to the land by justice, but a man who takes bribes overthrows it.”

The prophet Micah in Micah 6:8 outlines three requirements God has for us in doing good: do justice, love kindness and walk humbly before God. In business there are many temptations for personal gain, but justice should prevail.
