Church Financing God's Way
By Rick Boxx
February 7, 2011

Nearly 200 religious facilities have been foreclosed on since 2008, compared to virtually none in the decade before, according to a Wall Street Journal article.  With an estimated 300,000 churches in America, I was encouraged by such a low number of churches in difficulty.

It makes me wonder, of those in trouble, how many exercised their faith in their banker more than in God? Had they prayed and waited on God, would they be in trouble today?

When Jesus was in his hometown of Nazareth, Matthew wrote in Matthew 13:58, "And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith."

The church should tackle building projects only when God leads, and then they should expect miracles from God, not their lender.
