Equipping the Saints

By Rick Boxx

February 25, 2011

In an article titled, "Doing God's Work-At the Office," The Wall Street Journal warmed my heart when they highlighted a pastor in San Jose, California who visits his congregants at work.

Pastor Justin Buzzard set a great example for other pastors when he said, "It shows them that I care about their callings, how they spend 50-plus hours of their week."

Ephesians 4:11-12 teaches, "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."

Too many times pastors only equip their people for their home life and working within the four walls of the church. Thank you, Pastor Buzzard, for equipping the saints for the workplace as well.
