Peace in the Workplace
By Rick Boxx
February 10, 2011

According to the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, about one-third of workers experience high levels of stress. Over the years the pace of expectations at most businesses has increased dramatically, resulting in workplaces void of peace.

This stress has cost workplaces 46% more in health care costs and has increased employee turnover.

Proverbs 14:30 teaches, "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."

Several factors can create stress in a workplace, including envy of those higher up the corporate ladder. Peace is a win/win for both employer and employee.

Our part as leaders is to create an environment that places people in the correct role, allows them the opportunity to balance their work and their personal life, and encourages peace.
