Expensive Justice
By: Rick Boxx

Sometimes standing up for your beliefs can be an expensive proposition. Just ask Hobby Lobby. For two years they funded the necessary legal fees to fight the contraception mandate that was attached to the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Even though they eventually were declared victorious at the Supreme Court they still had to absorb the huge financial consequences of standing up for their faith and their beliefs. It doesn’t seem right that justice should come at such a high cost.

Proverbs 21:15 teaches, “The exercise of justice is joy for the righteous, But is terror to the workers of iniquity.”

It seems to me that true justice should come without financial consequences to the winner. Maybe we should reexamine our legal system to assure smaller businesses can also obtain justice.
