Hands-on Faith for Families
Week of July 7, 2014

Theme: 1 John 1:1-9

No Beginning, No Ending

Play: Take turns making up short stories. Before each person’s turn, have family members name a person, place or thing to be included in the story. When a person has included that element, the person may touch someone else's hand to tag out. Then the tagged person must end the story before the next person can start a new story.

Talk: The stories you created have a beginning and an ending, just as our life on earth has a beginning and ending. The Bible tells us that everything was created through Jesus, the Word (John 1:1-4). He is life and the giver of life (1 John 1:1-4). Although we had a beginning, Jesus did not. He was born as a human, but He has always been and always will be God. When He died on the Cross, death could not hold Him (Acts 2:24). He was too powerful. How does knowing that Jesus has no end make you feel safer?

Prayer: Ask God to help you understand that Jesus is God. He was, is and always will be.
