Strength for the Weary Soul | Psalm 119:25-32
Today's Passage: Psalm 119:25-32
Key Verse: Psalm 119:28
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Sorrow. It comes in many forms. The loss of health. The loss of a loved one. The death of a dream. Like a professional boxer it hits hard and then backs away only to strike again and again. It wears out body and soul.
There is one place to go for strength, a place that is living and active. A place where you can feel the inspired breath of God. A place of comfort. Peace. Reassurance. Security. Encouragement.
In times of sorrow open God's Word. Not to study, but to soak in his promises. Find a verse of comfort that washes over your soul and provides refreshment. Meditate on a passage that strengthens you deep within. When your soul is weary with sorrow find strength in Godís Word.
Father, help me open your Word when I feel too weak, when sorrow has worn me down. Help me find an oasis of refreshment and strength. Give me encouragement through your Word. In Jesus' name. Amen.
