Give God Control

“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God” Psalm 25:1

Have you ever thought about the definition of control? It is the act or power of controlling; regulation; domination or command. When we try to take control over our own lives, we convince ourselves that we the regulators, not God; we are taking the control away from Him. But do you really have control over your life anyway? Think about that one thing that can change your mood: a bad text from someone, your child’s tantrums, getting stuck in never ending traffic…things you cannot control, but they can easily change your mood.

God wants radical obedience from us. In fact, He commands us in the Bible to obey Him. He wants us to depend on Him for what we need in our lives. If we obey, THEN the blessings of God comes. Read all through Genesis and how Noah and Abraham obeyed God and what the results were. Look at how Jesus obeyed God, and how He was blessed. The advance in our lives depends on how close we stay to God.

Ask God to help you to keep your eyes on Him, and to help you release control of your life to Him once and for all.

Sit down and make a list of the areas in your life that you struggle with giving God the control. Pray over your list, and give it all to God. Let Him work on these areas in your life!
