“How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye, when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Luke 6:42
Are you a condemner or a forgiver? Ask yourself this question and think carefully about the answer. God’s word clearly states in Luke 6:37 that we should not judge or we will be judged, and do not condemn or we will be condemned. Jesus didn’t come to earth as a man and die on a wooden cross for nothing. He came to deliver the message of love and forgiveness.
His redeeming blood sets us free from condemnation-if only we embrace Him as our Savior. You are accepted, loved and redeemed. God’s word says so. Don’t let the lies of the enemy convince you otherwise.
As believers, we are to edify one another, as it says in Scripture (1. Thess. 5:11). It is our responsibility to love, accept and lift each other up so we can see the value in ourselves.
Lord, forgive me for judging others instead of loving them. Help me to be less critical, and fill me with your love, patience and forgiveness towards others. Show me how to embrace those around me, just as Jesus does.
