Letting go to take ahold

“So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it.” Colossians 3:1

The more we share the love of God the more we are filled with the love of God.” That line seems counterintuitive. How could giving something away result in being filled with it even more? But the truth is, that’s exactly what happens in God’s economy.

God, in His sovereignty, has promised us that when we are willing to step outside of ourselves and reach out to the world around us, He will continue to equip us and empower us. It’s the picture of letting things go so that we can hold even more.

Are you sharing God’s love? Are you constantly looking for ways to give away grace? Make sure you aren’t holding on to what God has given you. Instead, be willing, ready, and able to share the love of God with a lost and dying world!

Thank God for the love He has shown you. Pray for opportunities, courage, and discipline to share that love with those around you.

Perform one random act of kindness today. (For example, you could pay for the meal of a stranger at a restaurant.) But don’t just let it be random. Attach an invitation to church along with the paid bill, and invite others to experience the love that caused you to pay for their meal!
